Unosecur GmBH raised USDÂ five million in seed funding round, with an additional USDÂ three million in surplus investor commitments. German-based Unosecur is an AI-powered identity security startup.
The funding round was co-led by VentureFriends and DFF Ventures, and included participation from Leo Capital, Heartfelt, and several notable angel investors.
Founded in 2021, Unosecur operates in the identity and access management (IAM) sector—an increasingly complex area of cybersecurity as companies continue to adopt more software-as-a-service tools that demand specific access credentials and permission systems.
The rise of autonomous AI tools, like AI agents marketed as “teammates,” has further complicated identity management, as these agents also need secure access to digital systems.
As organizations grow, the number of digital identities they must manage expands rapidly. This includes employee logins, service accounts, APIs, and now the increasingly common AI agents. Identity has become a critical part of the modern security perimeter—if credentials tied to employees, services, or AI agents are compromised, attackers can potentially infiltrate systems and cause significant damage.
A report revealed that 80% of cyberattacks now exploit identity-based methods. Meanwhile, IBM Corp. reported that the global average cost of a data breach in 2024 climbed to over USDÂ 4.8 million, marking a ten percent increase from the previous year.
To address the growing challenge of identity sprawl, Unosecur has introduced an AI-powered platform called Unified Identity Fabric. This solution consolidates human, machine, and AI identities into a single unified system, enabling centralized and secure management.
Unosecur leverages AI to analyze typical behavior patterns, monitor identity access, and track activities to detect anomalies and flag risky deviations in real time. This proactive approach enables the platform to support identity threat detection and response (ITDR), enhance identity security posture management (ISPM), and manage nonhuman identities effectively.
“Before bringing Unosecur on board, our large-scale identity solutions provided ample visibility but lacked effective remediation for anomalies, and despite robust CNAPP alerts, our ITDR setup remained under-optimized and trapped in silos for nearly 90% of our processes,” said Vijay Muthu, Chief Information Security Officer of Rakuten Symphony, a company that provides cloud-native telecommunications infrastructure.
