True Anomaly Inc., a company specializing in space security, has announced the successful raising of USD 100 million in new funding.

Established in early 2022, True Anomaly Inc. was founded by former military operators and engineers. The company is dedicated to developing solutions to tackle space domain awareness, security, and readiness challenges. The platform encompasses advanced satellite, navigation, and data-capture technologies strategically tailored to deliver security measures and training solutions in response to the dynamic developments within the space market.

True Anomaly aims to confront the prevalent challenge in the space industry, characterized by outdated and susceptible space systems that face both physical and cyber threats. As space exploration costs decrease and space technology advances rapidly, True Anomaly emphasizes that the associated security threats are experiencing a significant and exponential increase.

Distinguishing itself from other solutions, True Anomaly’s platform integrates a unique combination of dynamic software applications, on-orbit spacecraft engaged in rendezvous and proximity operations, and non-Earth imaging. Additionally, True Anomaly’s suite of products and services provides solutions for space operator training, capabilities testing, and rapid response missions.

During its inaugural year, True Anomaly successfully inaugurated its GravityWorks spacecraft manufacturing facility in Texas and has seen a substantial increase in its workforce, doubling the headcount to 100 employees. Furthermore, the company has achieved a significant milestone by completing the construction, assembly, and integration of its initial pair of Jackal autonomous orbital vehicles. These cutting-edge spacecraft are slated for launch as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-10 mission in 2024.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Even Rogers said, “A responsive and agile defense industrial base is essential to provide the tools for deterrence and global security. Space is the newest and most vulnerable theater of contemporary global competition, but the U.S. and its allies are ill-equipped for a conflict that begins in or extends into space. True Anomaly is solving this by building the technologies for a more secure, stable, sustainable and transparent space environment.”

The Series B funding round was spearheaded by Riot Ventures Management LLC, demonstrating strong support for True Anomaly’s innovative endeavors. Notable participation also came from fundamental investors, including Eclipse Ventures LLC, Menlo Ventures Management Company LP, ACME Capital Partners LLC, 645 Ventures Management LLC, Capital LLC, Rocketship.vc Management LLC, Champion Hill Ventures Management LLC, and FiveNine Ventures LLC. With the recent funding secured, True Anomaly has now accumulated approximately USD 130 million in total funding, encompassing the USD 30 million funding round announced in April.
