Orca Security Ltd., a cloud cybersecurity startup, recently announced expanding its collaboration with Google Cloud to improve the security of cloud workloads.

A variety of Google security products, including Security Command Centre, Google Chronicle, and VirusTotal, will be integrated with Orca Security’s Orca Cloud Security platform as part of the expanded partnership. The integration aims to provide customers’ Google Cloud estates with a thorough, more contextually aware security layer. The partnership protects against a variety of risks by encompassing infrastructure, workload, and data.

Orca Security’s agentless solution to cloud security is meant to make the orchestration that is usually needed to protect cloud assets easier. Orca will enhance and standardize the data across various environments by integrating with Google Cloud security tools. With better coordination, security teams can use Google Cloud telemetry in the Orca platform, giving them a comprehensive picture of the security environment.

To ensure that security teams can view vulnerability and configuration data across their cloud environments, one example is the integration that allows the Orca Platform to send alert data directly to Google Cloud Security Command Centre. In order to streamline response times and lessen the impact of potential threats, information flow ensures that security teams have instant visibility into their entire cloud ecosystem’s vulnerability and configuration data.

The integration also includes VirusTotal, giving security analysts and incident response teams quick access to additional intelligence about malware discovered by the Orca Platform and the ability to consume it quickly. Orca claims this gives more background on the alleged malware’s type and how it might relate to a bigger threat.

Gil Geron, Chief Executive of Orca, said, “Orca Security and Google Cloud both share the belief that security analysts need the ability to solve more incidents with greater complexity while requiring less effort and less specialized knowledge. Together, we are enabling better detection with faster and more accurate response at the speed and scale of modern cloud environments.”

The last time Orca Security made headlines was in March when it introduced new capabilities for managing data security posture as part of its Orca Cloud Security Platform. By extending capabilities with improved data discovery and management, the DSPM capabilities are built on Orca’s existing approach to cloud security.
