Baffle Inc., a developer of data security platforms, has released an enhanced version of its platform designed to automate enterprise-wide data protection.

Baffle Manager 2.0 aims to solve the problem that implementing legacy application-level encryption is challenging and time-consuming. Baffle encrypts data as it is created, used, and shared without requiring code or application modifications.

The release includes a new user interface and application programming interfaces intended to facilitate the management of data-centric protection policies across legacy and third-party applications, cloud-native stores, and artificial intelligence initiatives. According to the company, the system can be deployed in less than 30 minutes and scales automatically with the growing volume of data and applications without requiring additional operational management from data, security, or compliance teams.

The new system includes a secrets repository, a certificates store, and single sign-on authentication to simplify deployment and enterprise integration. It is asserted that the product’s built-in integrations enable the complete automation of nearly all tasks.

It also automates the configuration, management, and monitoring of the Baffle Data Protection service via a REST API. The automation comprises role-based access control, key management, service configuration, and encryption, tokenization, and masking policies.

Baffle Manager 2.0 supports multiple Amazon Web Services regions and enhances multitenant support for software-as-a-service applications.

Ameesh Divatia, Chief Executive, said ahead of the release that “No company can implement or manage critical data protection on an application-by-application basis, especially with the explosion of a new generation of data-intensive AI application workflows. Baffle Manager 2.0 makes enterprise-wide scaling and ongoing management even more automated with a single, redesigned UI that streamlines every aspect of data-centric protection across the ever-changing application landscape.”

According to Crunchbase, Baffle is a venture capital-backed startup that has raised USD 36.5 million in funding. National Grid Partners, Alumni Ventures, Celesta Global Capital Managers, Lytical Venture, and Nepenthe Capital are among the investors.
