  • ImmuniWeb reports a 59% surge in phishing websites based on its own data from the Discovery solution.
  • The free email security test is designed to comprehensively address potential cyber threats by examining email server security, encryption, and compliance with best practices.

In response to an increase in phishing and other email-based cyberattacks, application security company ImmuniWeb SA recently launched a new email security test as part of its free Community Edition.

With the financial costs of phishing attacks nearly doubling over the previous year, the service aims to combat the growing sophistication of email cyberthreats. ImmuniWeb’s Discovery solution reveals a staggering 59% increase in the number of phishing websites targeting customers from over 50 countries this year compared to 2022.

Meanwhile, misconfigured or test-environment email servers exposed to the internet by shadow information technology and shadow assets in a multicloud environment have increased risks. Because of this, even inexperienced cybercriminals find them to be simple targets.

With a thorough examination of email server security, encryption, and compliance with best practices, the new free email security test is intended to provide a thorough response to potential cyberthreats. The service’s features include locating DNS misconfigurations, identifying credentials that may have been compromised, and spotting active phishing and squatting campaigns. The tool lets users check whether spam lists or dark websites have their email servers in their lists.

Smaller organizations, such as small to medium-sized businesses, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and municipal governments, frequently lack the resources to invest in enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions. They can benefit significantly from the new tool, according to ImmuniWeb. The company’s email security test provides a foundational level of cyber defense, privacy, and compliance checking without charge.

Chief Architect and CEO of ImmuniWeb, Dr. IIia Kolochenko, said, “While our primary duty is to take care of all our customers and partners, we take our social responsibility seriously, and we are strongly committed to supporting the most vulnerable organizations in their efforts to protect themselves against skyrocketing cyber attacks. The new free email security test brings a simple and efficient solution to ensure that… email servers and communications are safe.”
