  • The new integration allows for consistent enforcement on Slack by blocking encryption key sharing and auto-deleting files in external channels.

DoControl Inc., a software-as-a-service security startup, said that Slack Enterprise Grid will now benefit from an expanded data loss prevention integration, securing all Slack user communications across desktop, mobile, and online platforms.

Slack created the Slack Enterprise Grid to address the collaboration and communication requirements of big or complex enterprises. DoControl’s SaaS data security features are extended to Slack private messages, group messages, public and private channels, and Slack Connect channels with DoControl for Slack Enterprise Grid.

Across all major SaaS ecosystems, DoControl’s Security solution provides visibility, threat detection, and mitigation for SaaS data exposure, insider threats, and over-permissioned third-party OAuth apps. The latest version of Slack Enterprise Grid not only adds these features, but also provides thorough automated audits of user logins and logouts, anomaly detection (excessive downloads or file transfers), and other relevant actions. It is claimed that the combination of services provides a comprehensive monitoring experience across many communication channels, allowing for in-depth and proactive control of operational integrity and workspace security.

Adam Gavish, Co-founder and Chief Executive of DoControl, said, “The joint solution ensures the protection and security of all shared data and files accessed by both internal employees and third-party collaborators. By integrating our solution with Slack’s Enterprise Grid, we are poised to unlock new levels of efficiency and teamwork for every user across our entire spectrum of operations.”

DoControl claims that, in contrast to existing data loss prevention methods, it minimizes false positives by utilizing natural language processing and gathering business context and security information from several sources. Data from identity providers, HR information systems, employee data platforms, business end-user interactions, and the SaaS application itself—in this example, Slack—are all included in this. Contextual awareness aids in distinguishing real hazards from standard corporate procedures.

The new integration allows for consistent enforcement on Slack by blocking encryption key sharing and auto-deleting files in external channels. It also features real-time alerts that notify security teams of data-sharing infractions. Slackbot from DoControl interacts with users, expedites approval processes, and promotes a security-conscious mindset.
