Intending to acquire the company- digital.security, Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, announced exclusive negotiations with shareholders from digital.security. Popular in France and BeLux, digital.security is a subsidiary of the Econocom Group, which is said to be a strong independent player in the cybersecurity field. The collaboration of the two will help Atos to gain a leading position in cybersecurity services in France along with 500 dedicated experts, also helping it to be at the number one position in Europe.

Atos’ vast expertise and leading rankings in managed security services are the major factors that will encourage digital.security’s growth. While on the other hand what will help Atos’ growth is digital.security’s 250 cybersecurity consultants and specific IoT knowledge that offer significant synergy with Atos’ activities and customers.

“With this strategic move, Atos confirms its position as a leader on the French and European cybersecurity market. digital.security’s experienced and certified consultants will strengthen the Atos team and will double its cybersecurity resources in France,” says Pierre Barnabé, Senior Executive Vice-President, Head of Big Data and amp; Cybersecurity at Atos. “In the wake of our latest acquisitions, the acquisition of digital.security demonstrates our ambition to become the key cybersecurity provider for global organizations in their digital journey,” he added.

digital.security was created in 2015 with the support of Econocom and is currently functional in three countries under the leadership of Jean-Claude Tapia. It also works for the deployment of blue-chip clients, especially in the financial and insurance sectors.

digital.security is said to be the first European CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) that holds an IoT security test lab. Implementation and project services, compliance and security certifications, product distribution, and operational services are amongst some of the standard professional services offered by digital.security.

The deal is expected to be finalized before the year ends and depends on how management parties from both the firms decide to step forward.
